Cupcakes is a popular chain of retro-styled Vancouver-based retail bakeries featuring whimsical cupcakes, cakes and other nostalgic baked goods made fresh daily. Co-founded by best friends Heather White and Lori Joyce in 2002, Cupcakes bakes their products from scratch and uses preservative-free, basic ingredients, offering customers fresh batches of yummy goodness daily.
The Cupcakes trademark has been globally recognized as the original cupcakes bakery. It was also the Cupcakes Bakery featured on the hit reality TV Show called, ‘The Cupcake Girls’ on the W Network. The TV Show airs in 90 countries worldwide, including the USA, Asia, and Latin America. The Cupcakes brand stands for fun, hip, youth, nostalgia, and celebration!
In the past couple of years, the founders of Cupcakes realized that the retro look of the brand needed a general rejuvenation, a makeover of the retail stores, additional products and overhaul of the website. In Spring 2016, it was decided to broaden the pure cupcakes focus to make it more a destination for deserts and changing the message from “Cupcakes by Heather & Lori” to “Cupcakes & Other Good Stuff”
